The sweetest love story of the year! Torie and Jacob’s romantic West Michigan wedding day focused on the love that they share and for those who have supported them along the way. The couple met several years ago at a Halloween party during law school and that was just the beginning of their story. It was only fitting that their wedding day took place in October as well and it couldn’t have been a better day!
It was a warm, sunny fall day as Torie and Jacob shared their first look and shared their written vows in the backyard of Torie’s parent’s home in Ada, Michigan. The couple’s families were so wonderful in supporting the couple through their planning process and helping to make sure that the wedding day was so much fun for these two! Following their first look, the wedding party departed to their ceremony location, Trinity Lutheran Church. Family and wedding party members were involved in their ceremony, which made it so special!
After the ceremony, everyone headed over to the Bissell Tree House located at the John Ball Zoo. This mid-century modern style venue is nestled amongst the trees and truly feels like you’re not directly near downtown Grand Rapids. Festive cocktails named after the couple’s cats, Ivanka and Sully and delicious appetizers from The Catering Company Grand Rapids greeted guests and they settled into cocktail hour. Torie and Jacob also included a photo booth throughout the cocktail hour and rest of the night for guests to enjoy as a fun keepsake from their wedding day.
Inside the Bissell Tree House a soft and romantic setting welcomed guests to their seats. Delicate white and blush floral arrangements and glowing candles awaited at the tables dressed in white linens and gold chiavari chairs. It was the perfect look for these two! After cheering in the newlyweds, sweet toasts were shared from their family and friends before dinner was served. Dessert were the most amazing cupcakes from Nantucket Baking Company with flavors like pumpkin and red velvet.
Torie has a dancing background and so it was important for those two to highlight during their first dance and they had a choreographed dance which was such a beautiful moment! Torie shared a lovely dance with her father and Jacob with his mother. Then as a surprise, towards the end of Jacob’s dance, his whole family came onto the dance floor to perform a fun choreographed group dance, which ended with them lifting Jacob into the air. I’ve never seen anything like it and it was utterly unforgettable! The dance floor took off with the help of Moment in Time DJs and guests donned heart sunglasses and glow wands. To send off this sweet couple, everyone gathered together at the end of the night for a bubble send-off! It was the best day and it was beyond a dream planning with Torie and Jacob!
Congratulations to you two and wishing you so much love!
