What a breathtaking day for this amazing couple! One piece fitting neatly into the next to create a truly magical wedding day in Northern Michigan for Shauna & Michael. For a couple whose love story origin is movie worthy, their wedding day was the perfect celebration of their love.
The idyllic setting for this day to unfold as at Cherry Basket Farm, nestled in orchards of Omena in Northern Michigan. This romantic and historical venue was the ideal backdrop for Shauna and Michael to create a magical experience for their loved ones. Guests sat in the shade as Shauna and Michael shared their vows against the lush treeline under a white and green floral arch. One unique element during the ceremony was when Shauna and Michael each took a Polaroid photo of each other to capture their view of the other. Following the ceremony, the couple signed their marriage license and enjoy some photo and cuddle time with their pup, Meeko! Guests mingled around the courtyard of the venue while Grandview Catering treated them to some delicious passed appetizers and a charcuterie table display. Tonic & Lime kept the bar line moving with refreshing signature cocktails of spicy margaritas and Hugo spritzes. We wanted to create spaces for guests to connect and take in the views throughout the wedding from cocktail hour until the end of the night. A vintage lounge was set up in the tree grove along with numerous tall and low cocktail tables spread for guests to sit back and relax, we were so happy to see all of them in use throughout the night.
A white tent rested on the lawn behind the barn with flowing drape curtains lining the edges. Entering the tent, there were three tablescape styles to create interest and blend together with greenery and white floral centerpieces with the wheat field and orchards in the background. It really was breathtaking! Each seat was also set with place cards written by Shauna and Petoskey stones that the couple tumbled themselves/ Shauna and Michael were cheered into the tent and then they did a champagne tower (so successfully as well!) before taking in some of the memorable toasts from their loved ones. There’s something about the ease and flow of dinner under a tent and watching everyone mingle throughout the service. Following dinner, guests were invited to the upper barn for desserts and dancing. There they watch the couple cut their cake and share their first dance- then the rest of the night eased into summertime evening magic. This day and the whole planning experience with these two was a dream and it was a pleasure to be a part of. I am so happy for these two and what a beautiful day!
Congratulations to Shauna & Michael!
