Joyful, idyllic, summer garden party vibes and nothing short of the most amazing day for Rose & Ian’s May wedding at the Detroit Yacht Club on Belle Isle. One taxi cab ride conversation from the airport during a college study abroad in London and nothing would ever compare. Everything else without the other was muted and together it was full on full blast. Their wedding day was a true celebration of these two surrounded by the love and support from their friends and family.

Ceremony & Cocktail Hour

It turned out to be the most beautiful 70 degree partly sunny day after a morning of rain. Guests arrived at the historic Detroit Yacht Club on Belle Isle and headed towards the marina for the couple’s outdoor wedding ceremony. Officiated by Rose and Ian’s close friend, their ceremony included meaningful poems and sharing of favorite memories. After the ceremony, Rose and Ian led the way with their wedding party along the marina to the back veranda of the Detroit Yacht Club. Glasses of champagne and passed appetizers awaited guests while they enjoyed the amazing views.

Dinner & Beyond

Following cocktail hour, the doors opened to the main ballroom to welcome guests in for dinner. Glowing candles in glass holders amidst colorful arrangements of garden flowers from University Flower Shop adorned tables. It was such a colorful and joyful atmosphere! To kick off dinner, several meaningful toasts were shared before a delicious plated meal was served by the Detroit Yacht Club. After dinner, guests mingled and enjoyed taking in the sunset from the outdoor veranda. Espresso martinis and bundtinis from Nothing Bundt Cake made the sweetest after dinner duo. Then Luke from LuFru Entertainment threw down an epic dance floor to perfectly cap off this amazing day. Rose and Ian had so much fun on that dance floor with their friends! It was the best day for this amazing couple and with such a stellar group of vendors.
