Marli & Simon’s wedding day was nothing short of magical. It was a wonderful day of connection and celebration in support of these two amazing people. Marli and Simon met at a University of Michigan block party their freshman year and it’s been fireworks ever since. Throughout their planning, Marli and Simon wanted to create a wedding day that represented their style and personalities. The Whiskey Factory in downtown Detroit proved to be the perfect backdrop for their stunning December wedding day.
As guests arrived at the Whiskey Factory, they enjoyed a glass of champagne as they mingled before the ceremony began. The ceremony scene was set with a ceiling of hanging disco balls and greenery that highlighted two lush white floral and greenery arrangements. Simon and Marli chose to enter the ceremony with their parents, which were such special moments. Their ceremony was officiated by two of their close friends, Ani and Gabe, which definitely added to the intimacy of their ceremony. Then Marli and Simon shared meaningful vows together before they kissed and the audience cheered as they exited. Everyone headed down to the lower level of the Whiskey Factory to enjoy cocktails and passed appetizers like artichoke canape, wild mushroom tarts and more. The cocktail hour area was decorated with little clouds of babies breath and varying sized disco balls on the cocktail tables. The disco ball accents throughout were a unique design element, but also a nod to the couple’s cat, Disco!
The ceremony space transformed into a romantic reception space that was filled with glowing candles with black and ivory accents. Marli and Simon even created custom individualized thank you cards with fun facts to go at all of the place settings. All of the details came together to complete their wedding vision for this space including matte black chargers, matte ivory linens, black silver, using clear glass bread and butter plates- all of these little details were so important to the bigger picture. Guests were treated to an amazing dining experience through Two Unique Catering, featuring plated entree options of beef short rib, cauliflower steak and Moroccan salmon. Following dinner, more delights awaited their guests, such as espresso martinis, assorted donuts and small bite desserts. Marli and Simon kicked off the dance floor with their first dance and it didn’t slow until the last song. It was a beautiful day to celebrate this wonderful couple and we were so thankful to be along for the ride.
Congratulations to Marli & Simon- wishing you so much love and happiness!
