From the moment they began planning, it was clear that their celebration would be a beautiful blend of elegance and personal touches, creating an atmosphere that felt uniquely theirs. Set against the backdrop of Michigan’s stunning August skies, their wedding day was nothing short of magical.
The day began with a sense of calm, as both Kalli and Rob took time to spend with their closest friends and family. Kalli enjoyed a quiet morning getting ready in the stunning bride’s suite at Boatwerks, surrounded by laughter and excitement with her bridesmaids, while Rob kept the energy light by preparing for the big day with his groomsmen at the Tulyp Hotel. Their relaxed approach allowed them to take in each moment before the festivities began.
The ceremony, held at the beautiful St. Luke University Parish, was a true reflection of Kalli and Rob’s love story. The church, with its wood-beamed ceiling and sky-high windows, provided a breathtaking setting. As Rob stood at the altar, the anticipation in the air was palpable. Kalli entered, her radiant smile lighting up the room. The couple exchanged vows surrounded by their closest loved ones.
Following the ceremony, guests made their way to Boatwerks, the lakeside venue where the reception would take place. The setting was nothing short of picturesque, with the serene waters providing a stunning backdrop to the celebration. The reception space was transformed into a dreamy haven, with candlelight flickering softly throughout the room. White and pink flowers, lush greenery, and elegant gold accents added a romantic touch, setting the tone for the evening. Each table was thoughtfully decorated with these beautiful elements, and the table numbers were a personal nod to the couple’s love for adventure—each one named after one of their favorite national parks, sparking conversation and adding a personal flair to the decor.
Guests were treated to an unforgettable lakeside cocktail hour featuring passed appetizers that had everyone talking. Bacon burnt ends, beef crostini, beef Wellington bites, and many other delicious bites were served, tantalizing the taste buds and setting the tone for a night of indulgence and celebration.
As the reception continued, dinner was served plated, featuring a beautifully curated selection of dishes: pesto chicken, tender salmon, and acorn squash, each prepared to perfection. The food was as beautiful as it was delicious, bringing everyone together to share in the evening’s bounty.
The entertainment was provided by Chateau Band, whose lively tunes filled the air and kept the dance floor alive all night long. From the couple’s first dance—choreographed to perfection—to the last song of the evening, the energy never waned. The band’s vibrant sound created an unforgettable atmosphere, ensuring that everyone had a fantastic time.
After the reception came to an end, the celebration didn’t stop. Party buses were waiting to transport guests to BAM!, where friends and family could continue the celebration into the early morning hours. It was the perfect way to keep the fun going and let everyone party the night away.
Kalli and Rob’s wedding was everything they dreamed it would be, and more. Watching them bask in the joy of their day, surrounded by their closest family and friends, was an absolute joy. From the heartfelt ceremony to the lively reception, every detail came together to create a celebration full of love, laughter, and fun.
