Emily and Alex’s Northern Michigan wedding day unfolded overlooking the cherry orchards with the changing colors peeking through the treeline. It was a magical fall day at Cherry Basket Farm in Omena, Michigan. Emily and Alex’s story started after meeting years ago at a meditation club. It was fitting how intentional these two were about planning their wedding experience for themselves and for their loved ones.
The ceremony location overlooked the pond and meadow at the beautiful Cherry Basket Farm. Guests stood as Emily and her father walked down the meadow’s winding path and it was breathtaking. Their ceremony was officiated by their good friend, which made it all the more special. It also included a hand fasting ceremony as well. Afterwards, Emily & Alex shared private vows while enjoying champagne that they brought back from their trip to Italy.
Guests headed to cocktail hour hosted by Up North Bartending and Fork & Fire Catering. Guests mingled throughout the venue’s courtyard, sitting by the bonfire and taking in the fall views. Then their guests entered the upper barn for dinner. Soft ivory linens, glowing votives and dried floral centerpieces set the tone for the couple’s autumnal wedding vision. Meaningful toasts were shared then plated dinner was served with a unique and delicious menu chosen by Emily and Alex.
Following dinner, chocolate torts, cream puffs drizzled in chocolate and Spanish almond cake served as the dance floor opened. A special surprise awaited their guests! Everyone headed back outside to the bistro-lit bonfire area for a s’mores buffet, which was such a hit! It was an amazing day for such an incredible couple!
Congratulations to Emily & Alex!
