To know Amanda and Jason is to love them. The love that they have for one another and their family and friends can be felt from miles away. It was truly an honor to witness the union of these two incredible people!
Their ceremony took place against a crystal clear blue sky and the beautiful blue waters of Lake Michigan. After they shared their vows, Amanda and Jason shared a very special unity ceremony. Jason brought sand from Lake Erie representing his memories growing up on the lake and Amanda brought sand from Lake Michigan where she made countless memories with her family. The sands from each lake were then combined into one shared vessel as these two combined their lives. It was such a sweet representation of their life together. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed an open bar with “drinks on Birdie” , their beloved cat and mingled on the beautiful grounds of The Lake House. Guests were then greeted into the reception space filled with tables of pink, purple, and blue flowers and each guest received a custom beer glass featuring the couple’s other fur-baby Paisley. Amanda and Jason shared their first dance as husband and wife and then everyone was treated to an incredible dinner by KJ Catering featuring prime rib, champagne chicken and so much more.
Just as dinner was wrapping up, Amanda and Jason ran outside to watch The S.S. Badger arrive at the port. The S.S. Badger is the last coal-fired passenger steam ship in operation in the United States and it is truly remarkable to see. As the ship arrived, all of its passengers cheered for our newlyweds! It was such an unforgettable moment. Following that excitement, DJ Jeffrey Schildroth packed the dance floor and everyone partied the night away. During dancing, memories were also being made in the photo booth and hard decisions were being made at the dessert table! Amanda and Jason chose 8 different flavors of donuts from Peace, Love, & Little Donuts. How do you decide when there are flavors like apple pie, peanut nutter, blueberry muffin, and mint chocolate chip?! Needless to say, the donut bar was a huge hit! It was the most magical day from beginning to end.
Congratulations Jason and Amanda!
