Abbey & Amy’s wedding day radiated warmth, kindness and love, everything that their “Kamp Sunshine” wedding theme evoked. Every detail was an extension of the genuine, caring personalities of Abbey and Amy. To know these two, it is to feel like you’ve known them forever and that you’re a part of their family. It was so special to see that love and support reflected back to the couple from their loved ones on their wedding day, what an amazing community. On a warm, sunny day in the woods of the Circle Pines Center in Delton, Michigan, another chapter for these two unfolded…
Upon arriving at Circle Pines Center, guests made their way to the stone labyrinth in the forest. Here, guests participated in a herb ceremony, blending in their hopes and wishes for the couple. Abbey and Amy entered and walked to the center of the labyrinth, surrounded by their friends and family. They shared meaningful vows to each other and then their wedding party blended in the herbs that the guests had mixed onto a small fire, bringing them to life. Following the ceremony, guests walked through a wooded path to a stone pavilion in the pines where the cocktail hour and reception were being held. Charcuterie boards, created by Abbey’s mom, awaited the guests along with fun yard games scattered around the pavilion, giving guests a chance to have fun and mingle together. We saw several impressive giant Jenga results that evening! Abbey and Amy even created a craft station for guests to paint wood circle and stones as keepsakes, it was so neat seeing everyone’s creations!
The reception space was filled with glowing purple and white candles, scattered greenery and white linens, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for everyone to take in the evening. Donkey Taqueria provided an amazing dinner spread and at the end of dinner was a special surprise for their guests. The couple and their vendors had arranged for an open mic experience for anyone who wanted a chance to share memories or well wishes for Abbey & Amy. This was personally one of my favorite parts of the day, there were many happy tears in the crowd and so much love shared for these two amazing humans. Following the toasts, Abbey and Amy shared their first dance and then invited everyone to the dance floor! For dessert, Abbey created homemade ice cream, such as pistachio, sun butter chocolate chip and more, which were packaged and labeled by the couple and their friends. It was such a hit with their guests and tasted amazing! From start to finish, this day was overflowing with happiness, excitement and it was beyond a joy to be a part of it.
Congratulations to Abbey & Amy and much love to you both!
