It was such a magical summer wedding day for these two high school sweethearts! Casey and Colin’s wedding day took place in early June, surrounded by their loved ones in downtown Detroit. It was so evident by the love shown by their wedding party and families how much these two meant to all of them and how much they meant to each other.
Their ceremony took place in the main room at the Eastern in downtown Detroit, which used to be a fire engine repair building and is now a modern, industrial wedding venue. At the focal point of the ceremony was a wooden hexagon constructed by Casey’s step-father and adorned with florals from English Gardens. Guests took in the ceremony in comfortable cross-back chairs and everyone was on their feet to see the beautiful bride’s entrance. It was breathtaking watching Casey and her father enter the building! Casey’s brother officiated their ceremony and the couple shared some heartfelt vows with each other and then everyone erupted into cheers at their introduction! Following the ceremony, the wedding party headed out for pictures at the DIA while everyone enjoyed cocktail hour on the patio, while a ceremony-to-reception flip took place in the main room. Appetizers included delicious bacon wrapped chorizo dates, brie wraps, braised brisket hot pot and more from Two Unique Catering.
Upon re-entering the room, guests viewed white linen tables lined with a runner and fresh greenery set aglow with candles and shimmering mini disco balls. At each place setting was a gold charger and navy napkin tying in the couple’s blush and navy color accents. Behind the head table, the couple’s neon sign read “love you more,” which couldn’t have been more fitting! After a fun reception introduction for the wedding party and couple, some heartfelt speeches were shared from Casey’s parents, Colin’s best man/twin brother along with Casey’s maid of honor/best friend- those were so special to witness!
After dinner, guests mingled inside and out on the patio while enjoying assorted desserts from Edita’s Cakes. It was the perfect summer night! As the couple and their parents had their formal dances, little did everyone know that a big surprise was waiting outside! Colin’s father had orchestrated for Sparty to surprise our MSU alum bride and groom! Right on cue Sparty burst into the room and surprised everyone on the dance floor! It was so much fun watching their reaction while they danced and sang the fight song with Sparty. Then Sparty exited the evening after a nice frolic into the sunset with Casey and Colin! From then on it was game time and Derek from the Block Party kept this dancing crew going until the very last song! It was such a fun dance floor! After a bubble exit, Casey and Colin were sent off in their getaway car, which was decorated by friends and family!
Many congrats to Casey and Colin, wishing you so much happiness!
