Michigan threw us a curve-ball and delivered a scorcher on August 28th with real feel temperatures soaring into the triple digits, but the towering branches of the historic oak tree provided the perfect amount of shade and reprieve from the heat for Hannah and Karl’s ceremony. At 4:30 in the afternoon, this sweet couple made their way down the aisle accompanied by music from a live guitarist, and surrounded by friends and family, said “I do”.
After the ceremony, guests were greeted into cocktail hour with passed appetizers from Chowhound Gourmet Catering and signature drinks named after their beloved dogs; Frisbee, Lotto, and Phoenix. Each cocktail was designed to match each dog’s personality, sassy, chill, and sweet! Inside the barn each table featured lush greenery garland, soft candlelight, and pictures of Hannah and Karl at the age of each table number. Family and friends loved walking around to each table to look at the couple when they were just kids. In lieu of a traditional guest book, the couple asked guests to help them make a bucket list, to write down ideas for them to complete in their lifetime together. I’m sure that it will be so much fun for them to occasionally get into that box and pull out new adventures!
Before the wedding party gathered for introductions, Karl invited all of their guests outside for an “inaugural first pitch” with a custom baseball made just for this special occasion. They made sure every detail reflected who they are as individuals and as a couple and Karl’s love of baseball was no exception.
After a delicious meal from Chowhound Gourmet Catering, guests were treated to strawberry, vanilla, cookies & cream, and chocolate cupcakes from The Blue Julep and lemon butta-pie from Lush Yummies Pie. Derek from The Block Party kicked off the night with everyone’s favorite songs and guests enjoyed taking pictures in the vintage photo booth trailer provided by The Shooting Comet. It was such a wonderful day to celebrate this sweet couple!
Congratulations Hannah and Karl!
