Michigan set quite the mood for Katie and Robyn’s October Zingerman’s Cornman Farms wedding day and it was unforgettable. The couple met at a networking event at a conference several years ago. Robyn and Katie found that connecting thread in each other that had led them to their person. It was beyond a pleasure to be a part of their wedding day and witness the raw emotions of love, friendship, excitement, gratefulness, inclusion and support that was woven into their wedding day.
To kick-off the wedding festivities, the couple chose to start the event in an unconventional way. To begin, a welcome hour featuring appetizers and cocktails started the wedding event followed by the ceremony. Guests enjoyed appetizers like homity pies and kachumba salad appetizers. Signature drinks that day had a fall-festive vibe with choices between a greyhound fizz and autumn daiquiri.
Their intimate ceremony took place in the historic barn in front of a fireplace surrounded by their loved ones. Vases of pampas grass and pillar candles gave it such a warm and cozy feel. Their ceremony was officiated by two close friends, Anna and Rashi and included a unique herb ceremony as well. Rashi even wrote a special poem for their ceremony. It was powerful to witness the love outpouring between Katie and Robyn and from their community.
Guests made their way to the dinner tent filled with bistro lights and glowing taper candles. Muted floral bud vases were accented on each table with white linens. It was such a minimalist and romantic scene! Robyn and Katie gave a sweet thank you toast to their guests to open up dinner. A menu featuring cider and rosemary roasted hen rosti, hot smoked salmon crumpets and cassoulet vert. Many laughs and happy tears were shared as Robyn and Katie’s friends and sisters gave heartfelt toasts.
For dessert, the couple chose to serve up delicious cake from local legend Zingerman’s Bakehouse. The cake flavors included favorites like chocolate cake with buttercream frosting, coconut cake with passion fruit, apple spice cake and hummingbird cake. Back inside the upper barn, Robyn and Katie opened up the dance floor with their first dance. Both were rocking a fun pair of dancing shoes. Robyn even changed into a jumpsuit to hit the dance floor that she made as they danced the night away! This pair and this day will forever be full of amazing memories! Congratulations to Robyn & Katie!
