After two postponements, the third time was a charm for Emily and Lex and the setting couldn’t have been more representative of them. The pair chose to hold their wedding at their home in Livonia, which had belonged to Emily’s dad before he moved as well. Michigan set the mood with an overcast drizzly October 30th day for their outdoor wedding. Earlier in the day the wedding party got ready at separate locations and then came together at Emily and Lex’s house to watch their first look and take pictures. It was a really special moment for Lex and Emily’s first look, there is so much love between those two!
Their ceremony took place in the front yard of their home underneath a wooden arch adorned with fall embellishments of cornstalks, hay bales and pumpkins. A mirrored sign that read “Til Death Do Us Part” welcomed guests as they made their way to their seats. A family friend played the keyboard as everyone made their way down the aisle, including their miniature greyhound, Dobby. During the ceremony, the couple read vows from the movie “The Corpse Bride,” which really embodied the mood and feel of the day. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails and fun charcuterie appetizer cups while mingling. Mission BBQ provided a delicious BBQ-themed buffet spread and meat was smoked on-site by Lex’s Uncle Kris and it was beyond amazing- and the food didn’t end there! Mission BBQ also provided mini strawberry shortbread cups and caramel bread pudding along with cake, cookies and also treats made by their family members. After Emily and Lex cut their wedding cake, they opened up the dance floor with some formal dances. It was such a festive night celebrating these two!
Congratulations to Emily & Lex!
