Alyssa and Josh’s June wedding day started off with lots and lots of rain (which is lots and lots of good luck right?!) Thankfully the wedding party was enjoying themselves at their hotel while they got ready for the day. The separate groups arrived at Black Barn in style via a white trolley from Tecumseh Trolley & Limousine Service. From there the group enjoyed a leisurely afternoon while getting dressed and taking pictures before the festivities. Throughout the day, we were anxiously scanning the radar to make our game plan for their outdoor ceremony (or move to indoor plan B) around the impending thunderstorms. Then we got our window about 1.5 hours before their ceremony and jumped into action to set the scene. The wooden pergola that they got married under was decorated with romantic light coral chiffon draping and floral installations from Ruby Slipper Designs. The aisle entrance was highlighted with floral arrangements on top of wine barrels and surrounded by clusters of vintage lanterns and wooden crates. Guests arrived on the trolley and enjoy some pre-ceremony activities under the courtyard tent before heading down to the ceremony. Under the tent, guests were welcomed by a social distancing table to make sure that everyone was comfortable. There was also a Polaroid guest book station on a vintage buffet table for guests to leave photos and well wishes for the couple- it was such a hit!
The sun came out just in time to dry off the grass for our sweet couple’s ceremony! It was so special to send them down the aisle where their ceremony was officiated by Alyssa’s neighbor and they shared their vows.
Following the ceremony, guests were treated to two appetizer stations by Moveable Feast while they mingled and found their way to their tables. Place cards were set out on the couple’s cake table, so that guests could enjoy seeing their fun cakes; which included a main wedding cake and groom’s cake. Little figurines of the couple’s pets were also set out on the wedding cake. Guest tables were decorated with airy greenery garlands, gold geometric candles and terrariums filled with succulents and floral accents. Each place setting featured gold charger plates, crisp ivory linen napkins that included a sweet thank you note from our thoughtful couple. Also, included were vintage bookmark favors to Alyssa and Josh’s “favorite characters!” -As fellow book lovers, we definitely saved our’s! Another fun detail for guests to enjoy was the couple’s advice station. The station included vintage postcards for guests to fill out and put in a mailbox for a couple to read on a future anniversary. Guests had so much fun looking through the postcards to find the perfect one! The rest of the evening Alyssa and Josh enjoyed mingling with their friends and family and hitting the dance floor! Another sweet treat that evening was the gourmet s’mores station from Moveable Feast. It was such a fun day!
Congratulations to Alyssa and Josh; your chapter is just beginning and we know it is going to be great!
