Victoria and Mitchell are such a special pair, it was only fitting that their wedding day was as unique as they are! These two are so in love with each other, it was so much fun to witness their wedding day and watch them experience it together. Michigan already had it in for us with a very rainy, thunderstorm-filled week, but we weren’t going to let that get us down! Armed with backup plans A, B, C for their outdoor ceremony, we knew whatever the outcome, that this sweet couple would get married! Originally the ceremony was going to take place at the Black Barn Vineyard and Winery’s historic oak tree, but due to impending storms the ceremony was relocated inside. Then with perfect timing a little magical window of clear skies opened up for the couple to have their first look and wedding party outside along with an outdoor ceremony! Their ceremony took place closer to the venue in front of the pond. The vendors all pulled together to create a lovely backdrop for Victoria and Mitchell and it was such a success!
The rain skirted around us for enough time for cocktail hour to take place mostly outside as well, it was only once dinner service began that it started to storm more. Guests enjoyed a delicious meal provided by Morton’s Fine Catering while sitting at tables adorned with lush greens from Beck’s Flower Shop with navy linen napkins and custom favor cookies. Another fun element for guests to enjoy was the wedding painter, who was painting a scene from Victoria and Mitchell’s ceremony. Things were going along so smoothly that Michigan decided to throw us a curve-ball in the form of a tornado warning. So we had everyone calmly head down to the basement level of the venue to seek shelter until the tornado warning passed. The vendor crew sprung into action to set up the remaining appetizers, a water station and some alcohol cans for guests to enjoy while we took shelter. Victoria and Mitchell along with their guests were cool as cucumbers and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better group during this situation; everyone was so accommodating and understanding. Before long our couple and some of their guests were entertaining themselves with a giant game of flip cup! After about an hour in shelter, we headed safely back upstairs to pick up where we left off with our cake cutting and wedding party speeches, then the dance floor kicked off and didn’t slow down until the last song! Thank you again Victoria and Mitchell for entrusting us with your day!
Congratulations to Victoria and Mitchell- we wish you so much happiness!
