Real Wedding Story: Amy & Josh

Where do I even begin with this couple?! Not only are they so selfless, considerate and caring; they are also so much fun to be around! It was truly a joy to work with them and their families. Not that we planned it this way, but we enjoyed an extended planning process together due to the pandemic and their postponements. Amy and Josh took everything in stride and grace, they got married last year in an intimate wedding on their original wedding date. It seemed only fitting that everything really came together for the postponed celebration the day before their wedding anniversary. 

The ceremony and reception took place at Forty Nine South, which is a modern, mid-century-styled remodeled school in Jackson, Michigan. Amy and Josh’s dogs even joined in the fun and arrived earlier in the day for photos with their mom and dad! Their ceremony took place in the venue’s auditorium, underneath an arbor built by the couple and bride’s family. It was even officiated by a friend of theirs from out of state, which helped to make it extra special! Following the ceremony, guests headed to the reception tent, where they were greeted by individually packaged charcuterie boards from Zingerman’s Creamery. The appetizers did not disappoint and were such a fun option for guests! Towards the end of cocktail hour, Amy and Josh were announced into the tent to cut their wedding “cheese” cake, which was actually several wheels of delicious brie and other cheeses stacked on top of each other and decorated with fresh rosemary. An amazing served-dinner buffet from Grand River Brewery made sure that no one was leaving hungry! The brisket was beyond amazing! The rest of the evening flowed through, allowing time for guests to mingle and catch up with friends and family. A sweet dessert spread of mini cupcakes, macarons and cookies from the Pastry Perlieu were set out following dinner. Then Jump Start DJs opened up the dance floor in the tent following formal dances, which stayed grooving until the end of the reception! It was such a wonderful day for this couple and we were so happy to be a part of it!
