What a fun way to ring in the New Year with Hannah and Rick’s romantic Whiskey Factory wedding! Their wedding day was filled with laughter, love and New Years wishes! Hannah and Rick met through a mutual friend, who co-owns the Paul Mitchell Salon in Rochester with Hannah, sparks flew immediately for these two. It was only fitting that their wedding took place on a day as special as them. After getting ready at separate locations, Hannah and Rick’s first look took place in downtown Detroit. Followed by pictures with their wedding party at fun locations like Jolly Pumpkin and Foundation Hotel’s Apparatus Room.
Guests arrived at the Whiskey Factory in Detroit and headed up to the second level where their ceremony was taking place. The ceremony scene was set with gold chiavari chairs, glowing candles and greenery lined the main aisle, which lead to a decorated arch with a hanging banner.
The banner read; “Where you go, I’ll go. Where you stay, I’ll stay.” Ruth 1:15
There were many happy tears were shed as Hannah and Rick shared their vows that they wrote for each other. Afterward, a reading from Hannah’s brother was shared and then the couple lit their unity candle. The crowd erupted with cheers at the end of their ceremony!
After the ceremony, everyone headed down to the main level of the Whiskey Factory to enjoy cocktail hour. Delicious passed appetizers from Two Unique Catering that included crab cakes, spring rolls, micro tacos and mini pierogies. Simultaneously, our team and the catering staff flipped the ceremony space to hold their beautiful reception.
It was so much fun watching everyone enter the main room again and take in the transformation. A row of fresh evergreen garlands and flowers from Floral Designs by Lori and candles set the scene and smelled amazing! Every place setting featured a gold charger plate, ivory napkin and an acrylic place card created by Hannah. Plated salads just after the guests entered into the reception space. This way everyone could enjoy their salads during the reception introductions and toasts.
Hannah’s father, Sean (best man), Taylor (maid of honor) and Laurel (matron of honor) all shared memorable toasts along with a sweet blessing from Rick’s father. Laurel’s speech was so much fun and included 23 Taylor Swift song titles and a fun game for Hannah to play! A sweet surprise was waiting as Hannah and Rick cut their wedding cake, which was funfetti flavored as a surprise for Rick! Other dessert options included mousse cups, mini cupcakes, chocolate dipped strawberries and other treats.
From there, Hannah surprised her father with a special tribute dance filled with some of his favorite songs. Then Hannah and Rick opened up the dance floor with their first dance and it did not slow down until the reception ended at 1 pm (thanks to the great mixes from CC King Entertainment!) As we got closer to midnight, our team had some surprises in store for Hannah and Rick’s guests, courtesy of the couple. First up, was pelting some balloons into the dance floor for them to play with!
Next we went around the room with trays filled with NYE accessories for guests to choose from. It was a blast passing these out and seeing everyone’s reactions as they chose their accessories. Hannah even got in on the fun and had an amazing sequin romper that she changed into! Guests received flutes filled wih bubbling champagne to help ring in the New Year. Then everyone rushed the dance floor to ring in the new year! This day was such a joy for us to be a part of and we are so happy for this sweet couple!
