“It was fate that drew them together and bound them. Gilded adornments, plum and burgundy accents rich with texture. It was the hand that dealt them a mix of macabre and refined, set free wild in nature. Nature providing the raw element of their love in a decaying baroque style amplifying on their celestial destiny.” -Amber
It all began with a text message. Tricia from Angel’s Floral Creations texted me (Amber) asking if I would be interested in doing a tarot card-inspired styled shoot together (in about 4 weeks!) and the rest was history. Fun fact, it was everyone’s first styled shoot, but our photographer, including our gorgeous models! Would you believe that our models, Tia and Jeremy have never done this before?! I am eternally grateful to these two friends who trusted me so much with carrying this through. Courtney from FiveOneSeven and Brooklyn Prom and Bridal helped our models shine with just the right amount of embellishments.
Tricia and I literally poured our hearts into this shoot and it was such a labor of love! After many antique store missions and store trips along with some ninth-inning hurdles, we were so proud of how everything came together and of all the amazing vendors who were involved.
Tricia found the mirror for our main sign at an antique store and we knew it was meant to be the focal point. Mitten Script by Marah created the most beautiful sign that tied it all together. She made that mirror and the place cards in one night, holy talent! Jenni from The Pastry Perlieu created an amazing gothic painted cake and blackberry tarts that tasted just as good as they looked. Not only did Jenni make our desserts, but she was the #1 styled shoot assistant, jumping in head first and helping out with everything! We couldn’t have done it without her! Little Blue Bird Photography made our dreams come to life by capturing the mood and style that we were looking for. Kendra is a true talent and has such a great eye for her craft. Last but, not least, for the vendor spotlights, Tricia from Angel’s Floral Creations went all out for this shoot. Her floral pieces so perfectly embodied our vision of decaying baroque art coming to life. It was such a pleasure to collaborate with her and create something that fit together so well. I hope that you enjoy some of my favorite images from our styled shoot!
