Wedding Story

Words cannot describe the joy and kindness that shine from Moyo and Bolu. Together we created a day that represented those traits, made all of their guests feel at home, that felt bright and happy. It was pure joy! Every detail has so much intention poured into it and it was a breath of fresh air on the perfect summer day.

Ceremony & Cocktail Hour:

The scenic lake at Waldenwoods Resort in Hartland set the backdrop for the couple’s ceremony. Moyo and Bolu shared their vows together and it was so special to hear what they wrote for each other. At the end of the ceremony, everyone tossed colorful flower petals into the air as they walked down the aisle.

Following the ceremony, everyone got together on the large porch at Waldenwoods for a group photo, such a fun way to remember this amazing day! Guests enjoyed an outdoor cocktail hour on the lake with specialty curated appetizers to represent the couple’s Nigerian heritage. It was so fun seeing how excited their Nigerian family and friends were to see those favorites on the menu! Moyo and Bolu also created a crossword puzzle for guests to solve. It was great seeing groups work together to solve the puzzle.

Dinner:

One main goal that we planned with the couple was to quietly move their guests through each of the areas to represent what was happening next during the day. With their intimate group, we were able to seat everyone on the same side of the lodge for dinner. Bright pink-coral napkins popped off of the tables that featured thank you notes for EACH guest written by the couple. Brightly colored floral arrangements and pink candle holders helped to carry through their bright and happy wedding vibe

Reception & Beyond:

A bright orange, yellow, purple, pink lounge from Modernly Events created a perfect atmosphere for guests to mingle. A super fun 360 video booth from Fancy Flash Photo Booth had guests laughing and dancing- it was so much fun to watch! Moyo and Bolu also really wanted to include a Nigerian DJ to perfectly infuse their culture and music together and DJ Ayoo was the perfect match. At the end of the night, guests sent off the couple with a sparkler exit. Then guests were surprised with unique favor bags from Moyo and Bolu. These were such a hit and included gourmet popcorn from Popnotch in Grand Rapids (one of Moyo’s favorite snacks!), custom monogrammed notebooks and pillowcases from Nigeria. This day couldn’t have been better and it was absolutely perfect for this amazing couple!
